Simply Be: Style

It was nice and sunny in the office today so we decided to go outside and take some streetstyle shots of what people in my department were wearing.
Natalie reflects the weather in a BURNT ORANGE jersey.

I am wearing a BLURRED KNIT, by CLOAK & DAGGER. Skinnies by ASOS. Vintage AllSaints polo. AND contrast sole FFOR ROLF brogue in NuBuck leather.

Jess works a Leather Biker, teamed with a blurred knit, black mini skirt and tights combo AND a pair of handmade CREEPERS. peace.

Elvis Jesus

Up and coming Manchester brand Elvis Jesus has caught my attention this year. Not only because one of my close friends is now a member of the Elvis Jesus team -but because their raw menswear designs and attention to detail has made a refreshing change to the usual boring shit thrown out on the high street of recent.
Quirky Ad campaigns set them apart from competitors and the new SS12 range is looking just as edgy, merging elements of popular culture in a range that now includes knitwear, leather, tailoring, sweats and denim -as well as an extensive jersey collection.
One step ahead of their game previous Elvis Jesus campains have featured model Max Rogers who is now famous for modelling for the likes of Tommy Hilfiger amongst others.

You could easily compare the likes of Elvis Jesus to brands such as All Saints -however they focus heavily on smaller detailing such as embellishment, embroidery and beading. Adding personal elements such as this to their clothing gives a classic design an Elvis Jesus slant.

This is my personal favourite:

With the same level of graphic imagery and embellishment as brands such as Ed Hardy, Elvis Jesus some-how manage to incorporate a level of street sophistication where others have failed. Choosing subtle fonts and wording in favour of understated chic.

NYFW: Levis

LEVIS: Bearded BOY

SO the end of New York Fashion Week saw Levis ditch their cleaner cut image in favour of redneck-chic. Bearded brawn adorned their latest collection and using everyday looking models gave the impression that Levis do not take themselves too seriously.

Bright Orange pants Vs Rusty Stubble.
Winter grey pallette brightened up with a burnt orange brogue.
New Take on classic denim JACKET. minus the red tab.
A denim cutoff mixes the tailoring of a shirt with casual edge.
Reject that preened look with a highwaisted stone jean, granddad jersey and blue check outerwear -for that just ploughed the field -look.
Warm colour pallette with fantastic exaggerated rib and collar detailing.

Paris Fashion Week: Military Trend

As Paris Fashion Week has now drawn to a close I thought I’d analyse the HOTPICKS and find out the KEY TRENDS that stand out.

KEY TRENDS: Military

Looks like burning your All Saints Military boots might have been a mistake after all! Dior HOMME.

An influx of KHAKI hit the catwalks in Paris creating a definate SQUADDIE vibe. Mismatched shades and miserable faces.

Rock this soldier on tour look with a tailored FROCKCOAT if you think your hard enough and drag out an old war medal just for the fun of it!

Faux Pas:CAMO-FLANGE.
I'm not sure how to deal with this just yet. Its a bit too 90s FLASHBACK for me.JEAN PAUL GAULTIER.
